How to fix a Leak Alert
One beep, one solid yellow LED light
If the Visicheck™ feature indicates a leak, follow these steps.
- Ensure canister is locked into the unit and side tabs are flush with unit.
- Check tubing connectors to ensure they are fully engaged and locked.
- Slowly press firmly around dressing edges. Use a finger to smooth out any creases in the dressing. Creases in the dressing can cause an air leak and the pump to alarm.
- Use the 3M™ Prevena™ Patch Strips, located in the dressing package, to help seal leaks. Place the Prevena Patch Strips half on the dressing and half on the skin. This will allow you to seal the air leak. When the dressing is properly sealed it will appear wrinkled and compressed.
- Continue therapy if leak is eliminated. If not, call your treating physician.
